Coffee Maker
How do we make a cup of coffee? I dont mean taking a jar of instant coffee and adding water, i mean how to we brew a genuine cup of real coffee. This is a relatively straight forward process as it only involves taking roasted and ground up coffee beans, adding them to hot water and drinking the end product.Coffee has been drunk for many centuries and upto the early 20th century many people simply added ground coffee to hot water and boiled it until it sarted to smell correct and drank what was there. The first modern method to make coffee using a coffee machine or coffee maker was adopted around 125 years ago and this was using a method called drip brewing. This type of early coffee maker has changed little with the hot water finding its way onto the ground coffee beans and then gravity does the rest. The water combines with the Coffee and drips below into a waiting cup or coffee pot.The Krups KP200040 coffee machine uses the same actual mechanism as that found in major coffee shops which is the steam pump method. The heated water forms steam and this is blasted through the coffee beans making the flavour enter into the water.
Krups Coffee machineKrups Coffee makerHaving a satisfactory Bar pressure on the Krups KP200040 coffee machine is essential for ensuring that a good Crema is produced on the Espresso. The Essential part being that the speed at which the hot steam that has been generated in the KP200040 hits the ground coffee at a certain speed. If the steam moves at a speed that is too slow then the taste of the resulting drink will be effected and the coffee will taste bitter. A machine similar to the Krups KP200040 should deliver the steam with a 15 Bar pump and the resulting force delivered will be 11 Bars of pressure onto the ground coffee. This is the ideal Bar pressure for the highest extraction of coffee if the Coffee beans have been ground in the required way. The KruKrups KP200040 coffee maker ps KP200040 COFFEE maker contains a pump that operates at 19 Bar as the Dolce Gusto capsule system requires a higher pressure to work correctly.
Drip Coffee MachineOften also called a dripolator a drip style coffee maker adds water that is held in a reservoir into a tube in the bottom of the unit onto a heating element that partially heats the water. The steam bubbles produced force remaining water up to the top of the machine - over a spreader plate, and down onto the coffee grounds. The coffee grounds sit inside a layer of filter paper and as the water enters, the coffee drips through into the glass jar beneath. This process can take time and the water continues to pass of the ground coffee until enough liquid has been filtered down in to the container. Coffee Machine - Percolator
A coffee percolator is another form of coffee machine and they have been around since being developed in the mid 19th century.Gravity or pressure is used in this type of coffee machine to move the water supply contained into direct contact with the coffee for enough time to make sure the ground coffee is infused into the water. These sames gravitational forces then make sure that the resulting liquid is seperated from the ground coffee part of the Percolator.
